Toddlers have greater physical needs than older children. We
recognize the importance of the physical and emotional care that
they require. In the nursery, relations between the educators and
children involve more basic care (hygiene, safety, cuddling) than
formal and structured learning.
As they grow and acquire basic skills, activities are designed to
provide increased stimulation and encourage them to become more
independent in terms of feeding themselves, starting to walk and
starting toilet training. The children's own pace is respected at
all times, particularly at nap time and mealtimes.
The Toddlers Classroom is equipped to allow them to begin to develop
independence in a safe, well-equipped play area featuring soft floor
& wall coverings and a warm, homely environment. In addition,
carefully selected, educationally stimulating toys are always on
hand.
