Activities Program

PLAY is integrated into all aspects of our program, allowing learning to occur easily and naturally!

Life at the Nursery involves activities intended to stimulate the children’s development, while respecting their own learning pace.

For this reason, the day revolves around a number of routine activities:

  1. Activities organized when the children arrive at the Nursery and leave at the end of the day
  2. Activities involving food (snacks, lunch)
  3. Activities involving hygiene and naptime
  4. Adult led and child initiated play opportunities
  5. Free play

All of these activities incorporate learning through play and mastery of skills, and take place in the our age- appropriate classrooms, activities centers or outdoor playing areas.

Key Development Areas Our activities program revolves around five developmental areas:

  1.  Intellectual Development An overall rather than a specific approach is promoted for play, behavior and learning. Children learn how to make choices, make decisions, develop their own explanations for the things that happen around them, develop their own theories and express themselves correctly
  2. Physical Development Here too, a global approach to the development of overall and fine motor skills is promoted, and the children are encouraged to develop body awareness, discover their own potential and become aware of physical well-being
  3. Social Development Gradually encourage children to understand self-respect, and respect for adults and other children, to build relationships with others through communication, sharing and cooperation and to negotiate and make compromises
  4. Moral Development Teach children to live in harmony, reject violence and value tolerance, and to respect others and accept their differences
  5. Emotional Development Show children affection and encourage children to be affectionate amongst themselves, to be proud of what they can do independently, to be a good winner and a good loser and to express positive and negative emotions
